Application of Artistic Activities as a Sociocultural Service for the Elderly

Abstract

The article evaluates the use of artistic activities as a socio-cultural service for elderly people. It examines the sources of scientific information on old age, the process of ageing, the demand for socio-cultural services for the elderly people, analyses the specifics of socio-cultural activities carried out by social workers and the functions of artistic activities. It examines which branches of art and specific artistic activities are applied in practice in the provision of socio-cultural services to the elderly. The observation revealed the possibilities of using artistic activities to alleviate the communication demand of the elderly.
