This article examines how growing document flows, increasing volumes of information, and the need to organize internal administrative processes more efficiently are driving organizations to seek more modern document management solutions. The article analyzes the organization of document management at Company X, which is engaged in metal processing and the design of metal products. Based on an analysis of scientific literature, the article presents the concept of document management, as well as aspects of organizing document management and increasing its effectiveness. The results of an empirical study, conducted using a written survey (questionnaire) and an oral survey (semi-structured interview), revealed aspects of document management processes at Company X that require improvement. The study participants identified problems related to the complexity of document retrieval, document duplication, and a high volume of manual work, which reduces process efficiency and increases the likelihood of human error. Based on the research findings, this article presents opportunities for improving document management, focusing on the implementation of a document management system and the standardization of processes.
