Abstract

The article analyzes the influence of the driver's reaction time, the speed of the car's movement and the road surface on the length of the car's stopping and stopping distance. Formulas are provided to calculate the distance the car travels from the moment the driver notices an obstacle to a long stop. In addition, the tables show theoretically calculated values showing the dependence of the stopping distance on the driver's reaction time, the speed of the vehicle and the road surface. The figures show the graphs of the change in the stopping distance. Conclusions and recommendations are presented at the end of the article.
