Analysis of media and information literacy training needs of residents of Vėriškiai village in Radviliškis district in the public library

Abstract

The article analyses the need for media and information literacy training in a rural library. Information technologies and the dissemination of information in the world are developing much faster than the abilities of their users to use digital technologies, to access and create information and to apply it in various activities. In the rural community, the library is the only information dissemination institution to which media and information literacy education of the population is delegated, therefore it is necessary to identify the population's need for training and detail the directions and methods of training.
