Abstract

This paper analyses friction materials that are used in the production of car brake pads. There are also described friction materials functions and their problems. Moreover, this work reviews the chronological sequence of the most commonly used materials in the production of car brake pads, components to be used, ECE R90 safety standard requirements for brake pads, brake pad composite layers, types of sliding brake calipers, friction strengths, supervision of friction materials.
