The journal publishes articles written in Lithuanian or English. Articles are published on the Internet of the Open Journal System. Publication of articles is free. The scientific journal is published in two issues a year. Cumulative dialing is applied: an article that has passed the review and editing procedures is published immediately, without waiting for the full issue to be published.
The journal is registered in the international scientific information database - Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) https://doaj.org/ This database indexes full-text journal articles.

This is an open access journal, which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.
Aims & Scope
The journal aims for publishing of articles: to focus on a high international scientific level; to publish the results of original applied scientific research; adhere to high standards of publication ethics.
The journal publishes articles in all scientific fields, but priority is given to the fields of social, technological and medical sciences.
Guidelines for authors
The periodical peer-reviewed scientific journal “Applied Scientific Research” is published annually in two issues: on June 30 and 31 December. Cumulative dialing is applied: an article that has passed the review and editing procedures is published immediately, without waiting for the full issue to be published.

The journal publishes articles written in Lithuanian or English. Authors must submit articles in the correct language.
Publication of articles is free.
Format requirements:
- Text editor - Microsoft Word.
- Font - Times New Roman, 12 pt.
- Margins: Top and Bottom 20 mm, Left 20 mm, Right 20 mm.
- Line spacing: single.
- Paragraph indent 0.75 cm.
- An article length should by at least 20,000 characters with spaces and no more than 80,000 characters with spaces.
Structure of the article:
- The title of the article.
- Author's name and surname.
- Author's degree, place of work, position, email address (separately for each author).
- Abstract in the language of the article (up to 500 characters).
- Keywords (up to 5 word).
- Introduction of the article: relevance of the topic, research problem, the aim and objectives of the research, research methodology, novelty and significance of the research results.
- Text of the article: theoretical, methodological, research results sections, conclusions (recommendations).
- Summary (in English, up to 1000 characters, Keywords - up to 5 word).
- References.
The articles must contain: the relevance of the topic and the research problem based on the essential scientific and documentary sources, the aim and objectives of the research, the research methods described, the analysis of theoretical sources and research results, conclusions (possibly recommendations).
The formatting of tables and figures, in-text citations and reference list: APA style should be applied in the social sciences, Vancouver style in the biomedical sciences and ISO 690:2010 standard in the technology sciences.
Reviewers evaluate the following aspects:
Validity of topic relevance and a scientific problem;
Formulation of scientific research problem, objective and goals;
Presentation of the research methodology and methods and their application;
Analysis of scientific literature;
The depth of chosen problem analysis;
Reasoning of the main ideas;
Theoretical and practical results of the research;
Linking conclusions with scientific problem of the article, stated objectives, presented and substantiated results of the research;
List of the used literature;
Conformity to correct scientific English, proper usage of terms.
Reviewers make one of four recommendations:
to accept the article to be published in the scientific journal "Applied Scientific Research" without reservation;
to accept the article to be published in the scientific journal "Applied Scientific Research" after improvement, but without re-evaluation by the reviewer;
to accept the article to be published in the scientific journal "Applied Scientific Research" after improvement and after re-evaluation by the reviewer;
to reject (with reasons in the notes).
Ethics of publishing
The articles in the journal "Applied Scientific Research" are published in accordance with the standard requirements of academic ethics.
Authors may submit only original, previously unpublished articles. Authors submitting articles undertake to adhere to the principle of academic integrity. The principle of academic integrity is violated by:
1. Falsification or manipulation (for example, creating non-existent data, adjusting existing data to improve or worsen results);
2. Forged signatures, certificates, report data or results;
3. Indicated missing source, wrong source page, page visit date or other resource description data;
4. Suppression of received data contradicting the research hypothesis and/or questions and/or research conclusions;
5. Deliberate presentation of misleading information about the methodology of empirical research;
6. Unreasonable (undeserved) imposition of co-authorship on students, colleagues, subordinates or managers;
7. Unreasonable denial of the intellectual and/or financial contribution of persons who assisted in applied scientific activities;
8. Theft or deliberate destruction of empirical research data, computer programs, samples of empirical material, manuscript;
9. Plagiarism, i.e. appropriation of ideas, data or texts without identifying their author, presenting other people's ideas as one's own.
Plagiarism check
If the editor, editorial board member, reviewer, etc. detects plagiarism while editing or reviewing an article, then the authors are informed about it and asked to rewrite the content of the article or provide references from where the content was taken. If more than 10 % of the article was plagiarized, the article is rejected and the authors are notified. If plagiarism is detected after the article is published, the article is removed from the journal's content.
Review process
Articles are reviewed by two anonymous reviewers, scientists in the relevant field, appointed by the editorial board. The identity of the authors of the articles is also not disclosed to the reviewer (Double anonymous peer review).
If the reviewers' assessments differ substantially, the article is additionally reviewed by a third reviewer.

An article is published if it meets the requirements for a scientific article, is favorably evaluated by two anonymous reviewers, scientists in the relevant field and revised according to the reviewers' suggestions.
Complaints and appeals
If an article has been rejected without external peer review, when an editor's declaration with the listed reasons for rejection has been submitted, such straipsnis cannot be appealed.
The author may appeal by providing a detailed response to the reviewer's and/or editor's comments. The editor reviews the appeal and makes a final decision.
If a violation is found related to an article already published, the editor decides whether to retract the article or take other corrective actions.
Archiving policy
The policy for the long-term preservation of articles published in the journal includes the following measures:
1. All published articles are stored in the journal's Internet archive and the editor-in-chief's electronic archive;
2. The electronic versions of all articles are also stored at the Lithuanian Academic Electronic Library (eLABa), as a national aggregated open access (OA) repository (https://www.elaba.lt);
3. Authors may archive the final published version of their article in personal, institutional or other repositories without embargo.
